Marie-Hélène Bacqué

Marie-Hélène Bacqué is professor of urban studies at the Université de Paris-Ouest Nanterre La Défense (UMR 7218 – LAVUE; Mosaïques research unit). Her work concerns the transformation of working-class neighbourhoods, and urban democracy in France and the United States. In this context, in July 2013, she co-produced a report on participation in working-class neighbourhoods commissioned by François Lamy, then the French minister for the city. Furthermore, with Mohamed Mechmache, she has participated in the creation of Pas sans nous, a body for the nationwide coordination of working-class neighbourhoods in France.
