Emmanuel Blanchard, a historian et sociologist, is a lecturer at the Université de Versailles–Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Department of Political Science) and a researcher at the CESDIP (Centre for Sociological Research into Law and Penal Institutions – CNRS – French Ministry of Justice – Université de Versailles–Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines).
His publications include La police parisienne et les Algériens, 1944–1962 (Nouveau Monde, 2011). His current work concerns the maintenance of order in colonial contexts, as well as the history of Algerian immigration.
